O.Kalpaks Riga Folk Art Primary School offers an in-depth teaching in art and craft subjects.
Students acquire not only comprehensive primary education but also learn the basics of
various traditional crafts - in wood , ceramics metalwork, needle work, sewing and modeling,
weaving, work with glass, artistic leather processing.
A great attention is paid to applied arts- drawing, painting, composition, color lesson.
Starting from the first form, students take part in exhibitions, shows of their work during the Open Days.
9 th grade students develop diploma work in one of the craft or art subject and defend at the end of the school year.
The school offers a diverse range of interests in educational out of class activities - art, crafts, choir, folk dances and ballroom dancing, Guard Youth.
Students regularly participate in different exhibitions, competitions, etc. in Riga, Latvia and abroad.
A good tradition, at the end of the year, has become the annual exhibition of the best students' works and diploma works.
